Casa La Laguna Familia;
As we celebrate a New Year and emerge from a period that challenged us all in a myriad of ways, a renewed perspective of the places and moments that restore us sets in.
Luxury is too often framed by cliched marketing and recycled imagery forgetting the most imperative gifts travel and time away can give to us. Our team has been reflecting on the collective need of our guests to find replenishment, restoration, and reset in this coming year. The desire for authentic luxury is one we understand deeply and are dedicating ourselves to; That sentiment is our resolution for 2021.
Los Cabos has long been a sought after place of respite. The untamed beauty of our land, the kindness and culture of our people, abundant nature, exquisite cuisine, and above all, a relaxed joyful spirit that invites us all to slow down. Casa La Laguna serves humbly as the heart of so many special memories for past guests. While we often illustrate the magic of our iconic Villa, today we take a moment to honor the very moments time here enables, moments our guests take with them, with mental photographs we find ourselves drawing upon to inspire and carry us forward…
The rhythmic breaking of waves as sunrise illuminates the day ahead.
The quiet of the open Sea of Cortez interrupted by the breaching of a gray whale, the soar and power taking our breath away.
The colors on lush display in fish and sea life as we snorkel, some we are certain we have never seen before.
A late morning hike at Cañon de La Zorra, punctuated by a waterfall the canyon leads from browns and greys to verdant green as one ventures deeper along the trail.
The fragrant herb Turnera Diffusa better known as Damiana growing wild on our rocky hillsides, native to Southern Baja and used in tea and liquer. As you sip it, the ancient and wild spirit of Baja prevails.
Walking the starlit streets of the historic Saan Jose Del Cabo Art District including high season Thursday night Art Walk, sizzling food and beautiful music filling the air as local artists display their works. Art Walk is a most treasured tradition for locals and visitors alike.
Fresh caught smoked Marlin served on the sand.
The famed Almejas Chocolatas Tatemadas, grilled clams cooked on beach stones and covered in romerillo a native shrub of our desert.
And as the day falls into night, a sunset accompanied by a fine Mezcal brought over by our neighbors at ACRE, an adjacent Farm to Table restaurant, who hand produce four varieties. As the blue sky is replaced by stars, and you hear the rays play on the ocean’s surface, you think about what you will take from this day and what tomorrow will bring… at Casa La Laguna.
From the golden shores of Los Cabos, a toast to a New Year and the authentic moments we will discover together.
